Entities mobilizing the BioMARató 2024
The mobilizing entities have a crucial function in the BioMARató, since they are in charge of organizing trips to the sea with the volunteers who want to participate along the three provinces of the Catalan coast. They organize snorkeling and diving trips, as well as underwater photography and marine species identification courses.
Federació Catalana d'Activitats Subaquàtiques (FECDAS)
The Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities (FECDAS) is a private and public utility entity. It is of civic and social interest and is non-profit making. It is made up of associations, clubs, sports groups, athletes, referees, commissioners and technicians and aims to promote underwater activities and the defense of the natural environments in which they take place – the environment and underwater archaeological heritage.
Plàncton Diving
The center is located in l’Ametlla de Mar (Terres de l’Ebre), just 30 minutes by car from Tarragona and 1.30 hours from Barcelona or Lleida. Its main base is in the Urbanization Les 3 Cales, right next to the N340 on the seafront and is open all year round. During the summer it can also be found in the house they have in the same urbanization in front of the sea, next to the Sant Jordi d’Alfama Castle – between Sant Jordi and Cala Vidre beaches, two of the beaches most frequented by divers of the area for its great beauty and ease of parking. The Port of Calafat is where they moor their boat, the Planktonsita.
Associació Oceánicos
Oceánicos is an association of professional divers and marine biologists with a clear mission: the protection of the seas and oceans. Through their diving school, they train future generations of divers, promoting sustainable diving that respects the marine environment and its ecosystems. The headquarters is in Coma-ruga (Tarragona).
Anèl·lides - Serveis ambientals marins
Anèl·lides, Marine Environmental Services, based in Barcelona, is an organization made up of oceanographers and marine biologists whose main objective is to promote knowledge and respect for the marine environment. They achieve this through various activities such as outreach, education and research.
